Ingredients of Mama's Lasagna

  1. It's 1 of pd hamburger.
  2. It's 1 of medium onion, chopped.
  3. It's 2-5 cloves of chopped garlic(depending on how much you like).
  4. You need 2-28 oz of cans diced or crushed tomatoes.
  5. Prepare 2-8 oz of cans tomato sauce.
  6. It's 3 Tbsp of parsley.
  7. It's 1 1/2 tsp of sugar.
  8. You need 1 1/2 tsp of basil.
  9. It's 1 tsp of salt.
  10. You need half of box lasagna noodles.
  11. You need 16 oz of cottage cheese.
  12. Prepare 1/4 C of Parmesan cheese.
  13. It's 1 Tbsp of parsley.
  14. You need 1 1/2 tsp of salt.
  15. Prepare 1 1/2 tsp of oregano.
  16. It's 2 C of mozzarella.
  17. You need 1/4 C of Parmesan.

This recipe is so good—it makes the kind of lasagna people write home about! Lasagna is one of those dishes that firms up a lot as it sets. Mama's Lasagna instructions

  1. In a large pot cook hamburger and onion, adding garlic at the end..
  2. When hamburger is done add cans of tomatoes, tomato sauce, parsley, sugar, basil and salt and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for one hour..
  3. Cook lasagna noodles.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°.
  5. In a medium bowl mix cottage cheese, 1/4 C Parmesan, 1 Tbsp parsley, 1 1/2 tsp each salt and oregano..
  6. Assemble lasagna by adding a little sauce to the bottom of a baking dish followed by layering noodles, sauce, cottage cheese mix and mozzarella cheese a couple times. Top with sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese..
  7. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes..

I allowed it to thaw in the fridge overnight and then baked as directed. Just as delicious as the first batch!!! My hubby is a lasagna snob and says this is the best lasagna recipe ever.
